Expressive Botanicals: A New Direction for Spring/Summer 2026

This season marks a bold shift in my design language — a move toward expressive florals that breathe with movement, texture, and emotional depth. While my work has long celebrated nature in its poetic, delicate form, the Spring/Summer 2026 collection explores a more dynamic narrative: flowers painted with instinct, intuition, and a freer hand.

Each pattern in this trio — Hibiscus, Echinacea, and Tulips — captures a different quality of expressive beauty, all rooted in the sensual color stories forecasted for the upcoming season.

Hibiscus: Wild, Sun-Drenched Energy

The hibiscus pattern is an explosion of spontaneous strokes and tropical softness. Loose, gestural petals bloom across the canvas, creating a sense of heat, rhythm, and unfiltered joy. This design feels like summer in motion — radiant, airy, and confidently imperfect. It introduces the lively reds and saturated pinks that will dominate early-season palettes.

Echinacea: Herbarium Reimagined in Teal

The echinacea print brings a more grounded, mystical quality. Painted in expressive sweeps, the flowers seem to tilt and sway, as if caught in an evening breeze. Layered on a deep teal background, the artwork sits between botanical illustration and emotional abstraction. This pattern resonates with the emerging trend of “healing botanicals” — designs that evoke balance, nature’s wisdom, and inner calm.

Tulips: Elegance in Motion

This tulip pattern is a celebration of fluidity. The blooms stretch, twist, and open with a sense of elegant drama. Here, expressive brushwork meets refined form, creating a print that feels both modern and timeless. Touches of green forecasted for SS26 add freshness and a sense of renewal, making the design a perfect bridge between late spring and high summer.

A Shared Language of Expression

What unites these three patterns is a shift toward unrestrained, emotional mark-making. Instead of finely detailed florals, this new direction embraces flow, contrast, and spontaneity — florals that feel alive.

These expressive botanicals are designed for fashion, but they carry the soul of painting. They work beautifully on dresses, blouses, and flowing silhouettes that move with the wearer, allowing the artwork to breathe.

SS26 invites us to reconnect with nature not only as a visual motif, but as a feeling — wild, intuitive, and wonderfully human.
